Over
centuries, India has become a passive nation with a mindset that either
somebody will come from somewhere and change things or they will slowly change
over a period of time, by the grace of God.
Currently the society suffers from
1.
Chalta hai attitude, dishonesty and cancerous
endemic corruption
2.
Expectation of others to change but not myself.
3.
Resistance to change and “Jugaad”.
4.
Lack of national outlook and our duties
5.
Exploitation of poor and religion as vote banks
and ulterior motives
6.
Outdated and too many laws, the manipulators,
poor enforcement and delayed justice.
Action
It seems Modi wants to be that “someone
“who wants the change to happen and has earnestly taken following steps putting
his neck on the block to make things happen for betterment
1.
Clean
Governance and Transparent
transactions
2.
Various reforms and projects for growth(shall be
an ongoing process)
3.
Financial inclusiveness
4.
Fight against corruption and the black money(Demonetization
& beyond)
Reactions
The society has developed bad habits
over centuries and it is difficult to get rid of them overnight thus is still
trying to find ways and means to circumvent, resist the change, some even
trying to derail the initiatives for their personal gains though the vast
silent majority seems to be ready to suffer in the short term for long term
gains, the same may not hold if things do not improve on ground. Top down
approach now needs to percolate through bureaucracy, judiciary and police.
Future
Now that first three things are in
place and Demonetization is happening unless the “maverick “does not initiate following,
the junta may get disillusioned as rouge elements have already found ways and
means to subvert their black money and the “Babus”, “Bankers”, “CA”s, bigwigs
are all (few exceptions) hand in glove in this business thus the Govt and the
society has to come forward and defeat their purpose by
1. Penalize all dishonest officers,
offenders who try to derail the move & continue corrupt practices.
2. Helping genuine sufferers in the
hinterland by all means towards digitalization & education.
3. Bringing in reforms sooner than
later in politics, Judiciary, Police, Taxation and Education.
4. Giving jobs to youngsters to
transform the society on above aspects.
Summary
Regardless
of political affiliations, caste or religion or your status in the society, if
there is an effort towards transformation for better and if the Govt is willing
and taking an oath to go till the last mile to ensure betterment of the society
in general and growth of India as a powerful nation, we must discard our bad
habits, inculcate new good habits of respecting the laws , understanding the
need and ways to change for better, Love
your nation, act accordingly and above all evolve as better individuals thus
collectively we all shall be an evolved society for the future generations of India.
