Selfish Janata, helpless Janata Janardhan and selfless Janardhan

It has been widely accepted that human beings are by nature selfish, fundamentally due to the basic instincts of survival apart from other reasons but as they are also endowed with intellect, those who use their intellect, rise above the selfishness and start their journey from selfishness to selflessness through the values of tolerance and reason, finally those who consciously seek truth and seek to  understand the meaning of dharma(right behavior and social awareness) Karma(deeds-action) and moksha (liberation) and practice the same in real life, attain the selfless stature towards Nirvana.

Given above, the society can broadly be divided into three categories, first the Selfish (Ordinary Janata) second the Janata Janardhan (tolerant and reasonable) and thirdly the Janardhanas (compassionate & righteous). The progress and development of society depends upon the right mix(proportion) as all three of them are integral part and shall always remain so in any society.

Janata
The English definition of Janata is “General public” meaning ordinary people (rich and poor both) with no special knowledge, being ordinary and mostly uneducated. They tend to be selfish, ungrateful and always asking for more- They breed on greed. Their priority is me, myself and my needs and nothing beyond it despite the inherent requirement to be a social animal and live in harmony with others as well as the nature. They are generally reactive and gullible customers.

Janata Janardhan
This is the majority of public in any society. Regardless of their caste, religion, race, whether poor or rich, they are at least aware of the need to use their minds and souls to activate the human instincts of tolerance and compassion for others. They are the law-abiding, god-fearing, respect the norms of society, hardworking and always in search of growth and development, they have immense potential to be Janardhan but do not know how to become one. Well known as “silent majority “of a society.

Janardhans
This class is respected by all and some are even worshipped as they are responsible citizens, torch bearers, do-gooder’s, work for others and the nation selflessly, we can call them the strong pillars of a human society. Their value to the society is immense because they are clear in their mental construct(righteousness-dharma), in their intent of actions (Karma) and work towards upliftment(liberation-Moksha) thus play a major role in strengthening moral fabric of the society.

The evil elements in a society always exploit the gullible Janata to achieve their ends as they are complimentary and will continue to be so, the Janata Janardhan abhor this exploitation but are generally silent and remain onlookers, history is a testimony to the same as most destruction took place because Janata Janardhan remained a silent majority. The victories came when Janata Janardhanas stood steadfastly behind Janardhanas and societies developed with their chemistry.

The path to real growth and development of a society is simple, progression from first category towards the third i.e. materialism to humanism to Spiritualism. In other words, progress from being an animal to being human to being God. It is always a continuous process and is key to its success.

In today’s context i.e. the coronavirus pandemic, it is easy to identify each segment of society from their behavior. All are suffering but the evil forces in Janata are hellbent on creating roadblocks and trouble, the Janata Janardhans are suffering too but look helpless, silent spectators and seeking solutions. The Janardhanas are the Covid warriors, social workers and our supreme leader, who are all working tirelessly and selflessly to save as many lives and the livelihoods as humanly possible.

It is high time that the silent majority rises to the occasion(duty), aligns with Janardhanas to marginalize the troublemakers, win this long-drawn battle & the war ahead at any cost to avoid dire consequences. India has the spiritual DNA to do it and this is the time to come together and succeed.

Past -Present-Future-How we Live is the Key to success

Time is very important in our lives and plays a very significant role. Our whole life revolves around time thus It's better to follow and respect time instead of regretting afterward because the time gone is never going to come back.

Even though Time itself is defined as infinite, it is very temporal in our lives, it is divided into three phases in our lives- past, present and future. Moment to moment it changes tenses, while the moment we live in is present, Gone-by is past and yet to come is future. Without realising, it changes from moments to minutes to hours to days to years to decades to centuries.

There are various theories and philosophies as well on how we should live our lives. The one which struck the chord in me from beginning and the one that is simple to understand and follow is based on a Hindi song penned by the great lyricist Shailendra for the famous Raj Kapoor film Teesri Kassam ( watch: Link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IhUBBkXAu9M )
Ladakpan Khel Mein Khoya, Jawaani Neend Bhar Soya,
Budhaapa Dekhkar Roya, Wahi Kissa Purana Hai,
Sajan Re Jhooth maat bolo, Khuda ke paas jana hai

where ladakpan is past(lost), Jawaani is present(sleeping) and budhapa(roya-afraid) is future, it is an apt example of how majority of us end up living our lives. In general, we waste our time pursuing only materialistic pleasures, neither do we learn from past nor explore our inner huge potential to become strong mentally, physically and spiritually thus at the critical juncture are afraid and uncertain of our future.

In principled way, we must always learn from the past, there is nothing we can do about it except learn from it, but the present is where things happen, and every person is endowed with abilities to make things happen. We must live each day like it is our last, because it may be. We can neither relive the past nor can we live in future as you haven't reached it, for example take the current scenario of Lockdown, fear and the uncertainty all around.
All savings and investments have gone astray, businesses/employment either lost or under stress. Lifestyle is no more as it used to be in past and what is left in our hand is our own mindset, knowledge. skills, spirituality, family, friends and network to deal with present circumstances.
Right now, we cannot do anything about the circumstances and the materialistic things lost as above but can be relatively be happy with what is in our hands i.e. our life, acquired knowledge, skills and spirit. Make the most of it, use this time to reskill, enhance knowledge, grow spiritually and use the balances wisely.
This timely and continued process of self-improvement along with our balances, friends, and networks will assist the ever-evolving better person in us to not only tide over the current situation positively and happily but will also amply equip us to tackle any comprehendible future challenges successfully.
Do not waste this day, thank god you are alive, Get going as you do not know what future will bring. Live, Learn, Grow- Keep evolving. Future is “BRIGHT”, make moves “RIGHT”

The Essence of P. M’s (leader of the nation) call for 5apr at 2100 for 9 minutes to the janta may be summed as follows for those skepticals

Background
We all are suffering due to a common enemy, while the warriors are fighting the enemy on all fronts, we all, who are confined to dark days and nights individually locked down in our houses can show the strength of togetherness by doing this act at one time together thus creating a synergy to end the darkness and seek brightness.
\
Objective
Let us be together, let us produce energy together
Let there be no limit to our energies
Let this synergized unity regardless of caste, creed and religion lead all of us
From darkness to Light and
From mortality to Immortality

Benefit
An approach to bring people together, motivate and keep up the spirits high
Regardless, do not forget to help the less privileged within your circle of influence during these difficult times, caring for each other and being together is the only we shall win over the enemy

In above there is no superstition, religion involved but surely Indian spiritual endowment

“Lockdown” telecast of “Ramayana” and” My take”

The telecasting of “Ramayana” serial by Doordharshan, seems to be a well thought strategy of the current dispensation to keep many who are doing nothing glued to T.V.  thus, keep them occupied and at the same time hopefully imbibe in them the eternal and ethical values of righteousness and social behavior, to tide over the current challenge and gloomy conditions, created by Novel Covid 19.

While the Sarkar rightfully took the decision to Lockdown the whole country for 21 days fulfilling its duty(Raj Dharma) i.e. “Jaan Hai to Jahan Hai” to contain spread and save lives, now after assessing the progress in last two weeks on spread  and its own preparedness to fight  the virus, seems to be looking at another two weeks of not complete but selective/graded Lockdown to ensure “Jaan aur Jahan” . I.e. save lives as well as ensure a slow but progressive plan to get back the economy going, keeping in mind the Raj Dharma of ensuring lives as well livelihood of most of the population.

As the epic is a gripping story of victory of good over evil, love, compassion, relationships and social behavior of all stakeholders, the conversations at crucial junctures of decision making are philosophical, value based and keeping in tune with Dharma( natural laws of right behavior and social order). While authorities seem to have taken it as above, “My Take” as a commoner, from watching the serial is as follows -:

Do an inward search, look for the Rama within you, work on him, isolate the Ravana and his ego. In today’s terminology, simply do your own SWOT analysis and work on it to evolve as a perfect man.
Always be respectful to all, nature, laws of the land and especially to your wife (if you are married) Remember that good deeds always comeback around in unexpected ways.

Always try to understand rather than be understood, seek truth, try and understand the meaning of all the virtues(dharmas) as depicted and shared in Ramayana to emulate for personal development.

Inculcate Love, it is all pervasive and binds all around you. Love is not only a noun but a verb too for e.g. an F1 driver who has a passion(noun) for driving, risks his life trying to  master(verb) the driving skills to win the same, similarly your love should not be only nurtured within but demonstrated too with your actions by being tolerant, forgiving, compassionate, helpful and treat all equally.

Always keep evolving (develop gradually), each failure shall be a step forward to succeed eventually, the continuous process of evolution will surely make you a Responsible human being, if not a perfect man. All of us have basic survival instincts and genes to succeed. Those who dream, dare and work towards their aims positively often succeed and become torchbearers of the society.

Litmus test
For the Govt it is easy to give slogans and make policy but difficult to deliver, thus actions are a must on ground to fulfil the Raj Dharma, save lives and livelihood in the days and months ahead. The Sarkar must “walk the talk” and the united society work spiritedly for the long struggle ahead.

It is easy to preach than practise, thus the charity begins at home, I will try and evolve- better late than never, I  may not emulate even a fraction of elements of a maryada purshottam(a perfect man-symbol of many virtues) but with the beginning and  continuous process of  efforts at least may become a responsible person, worthy enough to bow at his altar(centre of spirituality & all virtues)

Be a, “Responsible agent” and work for a “Better tomorrow”

As human beings we are supposed to be the most intelligent race on the earth because by nature we are endowed with “Freedom to choose our actions” i.e. all of us are gifted with response-ability. Please retrospect on your life so far, in general you will realize that each action of yours was a result of crave, intuition, knowledge, curiosity, circumstances, reactions and greed thus may not have been a conscious, fully aware and a willful decision.

The current grim situation may continue for next few days and months(hopefully not , sub to our behavior), during this period you may be surrounded with boredom, fear, depression, negativity, media misinformation, rumors, conspiracy theories, religious divides, business exploitations, political score settlements and social media killer messages, thus time to ensure that instead of reacting to these above said things you better choose the freedom to act as per your Conscience, fully aware of the facts and consequences of your action based on the laws of the nature and the eternal values.

While the various forces and agencies viz govt, administration, law enforcement agencies, medical fraternity, Social organizations, corporate social responsibility agents and the essential services/goods providers are doing their best(within their ability and resources)to overcome and win the battle against the virus, we as individuals can at least become a back-end “Responsible agent” in this chain of frontline warriors to win this battle.

As a “Responsible agent” I can choose to act consciously, fully aware of facts and consequences.
As an individual I shall take care of myself and ensure that I follow the good and simple practices of physical (prefer this to social) distancing, hygiene, respect the law & follow the prevailing guidelines and assist the frontline warriors within my capacity.

I must understand the gravity of the situation thus should not react to any rumors or commit  an act which may endanger not only my life but of my family members and the community as well, I shall think twice before I break the required discipline at this critical time and always take precaution.
I shall be compassionate towards the less fortunate, be caring and do whatever within my means to alleviate their suffering and act accordingly.

I shall use this period to retrospect, enjoy with the family,  learn through various sources within my scope of availability, follow the good practices, form good habits and make them a part of my life, learn and enshrine the eternal values to ensure that I evolve as a good human being.

I have a firm belief that Collectively We shall evolve as victors over this unknown enemy called “Covid19”, knowing well that it is taking time as we still have no solution and infrastructure ready to cope with it. Various authorities are buying time to overcome that, thus asking us to be patient and follow suggested guidelines to minimize fatalities while sooner than later they will find a solution & hopefully we shall see a new world which is in sync with the laws of the nature and not against it.

Now if each individual works on the above simple, easy and natural principles, share and practice within own circle of influence, it shall become a big chain of change and collectively bring about a, “better tomorrow”.
